I have always been a conservative because being from the Bible belt in Alabama, thatâ€™s how I was raised. I however, paid absolutely no attention to politics & Iâ€™m ashamed to say that I never voted until Obama ran in 2012. When I first heard about Obama, I thought it wouldnâ€™t hurt to listen to what he has to say with an open mind. So I did that. But the more I listened, the more disturbed I became. I began having a gut wrenching very bad feeling about this man. I knew in my heart if he won, our country was headed for disaster. So I voted for Romney (and I know now that truly was the lesser of two evils). I remember watching the election with my best girlfriend who despite me begging her not to, had voted for Obama. When he won, I sat there & cried. Fast forward to the 2016 election & I was a huge Ben Carson supporter. On the other hand, I absolutely despised Donald Trump. I mean no one could convince me that Trump had any business being anywhere near the White House much less the commander in chief. I even unfriended & blocked one of my friends on Facebook because she was trying to convince me otherwise. But then when Dr. Carson started losing his momentum in the race & finally dropped out, something amazing happened. Dr. Ben Carson endorsed Donald Trump. I was absolutely in shock & couldnâ€™t believe it. And I thought to myself now what do I do? Dr Carson was appearing on Fox News & other news outlets giving his explanation of why he endorsed Donald Trump. I had so much respect for Dr. Carson that I knew I could trust what he was saying. So I began listening to Trump speak & the more I listened the more engaged I became. I realized that despite the rough brazen exterior, this man loved America & wanted the best for this country & itâ€™s people. Pretty soon I was convinced that I would be voting for Trump & I did so in both 2016 & 2020. That was the best decision I have ever made and I definitely will be voting for him again in 2024. Thank you Brandon for this platform. I am so proud to walk with each and every one of you on our journey to restore freedom & peace to our beloved country once again. God bless you all & God bless America!
