View MoreI've always been a liberal thinker and never really followed or cared much about politics. I honestly couldn't even tell you who I voted for in any election up to 2016. I'm quite sure I just voted for who I liked without even knowing what policies they were running on. Well, in 2016 I knew I didn't like Hillary Clinton, but I was a fan of Donald Trump because I watched The Apprentice (yes, I was that shallow and apathetic). I didn't follow his campaign...I just liked him. He was raw and real.Skip ahead to 2020 when our over-reaching government afforded me a lot of spare time to really examine the world we live in ...and I did not like what I saw. I immediately realized I was actually quite conservative (albeit still a classic liberal in a lot of ways). During the tyranny of 2020 I saw the evil of the left and how power absolutely corrupted people (think mask Nazis). The riots of 2020 and the double-standards that they enabled was the straw that broke the camel's back. The scales were removed from my eyes, I began to connect with God, I found Brandon's original Walkaway video and found the Walkaway Facebook page shortly after. I knew I had found "my people". Most videos and testimonies brought me to tears...and they definitely gave me the hope I had thought I lost. In August of 2020 I attended a Walkaway event and the presence of God over that event was palpable. I met so many good people through Walkaway and I am forever grateful.As a side note: I am married to my husband Jim since 2000, and we live with our beautiful dog Mabel. We like music, visiting coffee shops and riding our bicycles.
